Before Dawn
One night. One empty room. And a voice only she can hear.
Before Dawn is a short, quiet visual novel about leaving. On her last night in the home she grew up in, a 22-year-old girl has to pack her childhood into boxes before the moving truck arrives at sunrise.
You are not a narrator, and you are not a guide. You are the voice that has been with her since she was a child — the only one she can really talk to. You bicker. You joke. And when she finally opens the things she has kept for years, you are the one who has to know when to be quiet.
A worn handheld console. A cassette of a little girl broadcasting to an empty room. An essay about a family made of dust and wind. The height marks on her doorframe. A birthday card from someone who promised "forever."
She has to decide what to keep, what to throw away, and what to say to the only voice that ever listened.
- A 15–20 minute experience — short enough to finish in one sitting, heavy enough to stay with you.
- Your choices are few, but they matter. Three quiet decisions shape how she says goodbye — and what she takes with her.
- A single warm lamp in a cold blue night. No monsters, no jump scares, no red. Just one room, one light, and the dust drifting through it.
- Sound as feeling. No voice acting — each speaker has their own quiet tone, and the silence is part of the story.
- Four languages: 简体中文 · English · Português (Brasil) · 日本語
About this project: I made this little game in less than a day to practice making games — so please enjoy it for the small, quiet thing it is.
